One Epic Knight is a running game- a far larger share of humour than we are used to. Our plucky protagonist, a gold-armoured knights takes to the twisty and winding corridors of a medieval castle. The castle is chock full of baddies, blobs, crevices and traps. You can battle these with picked-up swords and shields that survive for a pre-set number of collisions. The app has a ‘store’ where you can upgrade weapons and buy all manner of power ups to use along the way. So far, so very Temple Run…
The humour however, really sets the game apart. Your Knight will mutter funny witticisms when he first sets off and then again when he ‘dies’ or the run ends. I have to admit, I don’t recall ever hearing the same phrase twice in the number of games I have played so there is a quite a depository of sayings embedded in the game. It adds an extra dimension to it and makes it fun, even if you’ve just died, you’re still chuckling to what he has just said.
